Birthday cards for a friend.

Hi crafters

I have made these two cards for my best friend. "Now why have you made two cards?" I hear you ask.

Well the first one is for a joke to make her laugh cos she could do with a good laugh right now. The second one has a nice verse inside which says just what she means to me as a friend.

The image on the front of this card is digi stamp from Dustin Pike, coloured with Kurecolour Twin tip alcahol ink markers. The backing paper is from DCWV Green Stack.
I used a white gel pen to write the greeting and to doodle on the flower.

For this card I used the butterfly from the Cuttlebug range.
I used fluid chalks to colour and added a couple of beads for the body.
I used the Fiskars embossing plates to emboss the panel with the cuttlebug.

Ribbon Poinsettia

Hi Crafters,

Well the weather here is miserable, perfect for crafting. All though we are not having at bad as Cumbria right now.

I have been playing with ribbon and come up with this Poinsettia. After making a few  I found the easiest and the quickest way to make them. All you need to make them is ribbon, fine beading wire, a brad and a bit of patience.

I am just loving the look of this card. A traditional card with a modern twist. I hope you like it. Since making the card I have added the greeting.

Cuttlebug Butterfly

Hi Crafters,

I have been having a rest from making Christmas cards.

I have made this card. I've Stamped the background and the sentiment.

I am loving the cut & emboss c/b butterflies. I cut the butterfly from some pink patterned pearlesant cardstock and then embossed with one of the folders it comes with. I then coloured the edges with  pink and brown fluid chalks untill I was happy with the effect. Then ebossed a 4.5cm strip with the swiss dots. That is backed with a scaloped border the edges of wich are coloured with fluid chalk.

This card is a little out of my comfort zone cos I don't do a lot of stamping. It is some thing I am begining to get into.

I hope you like it. Thanks for looking.

Welcome to my New Look Blog (Updated 16/11/09)

Hi Crafters,

No card today but what do you think to my new look.

Post update

After a lot of experimenting I have finaly managed to get the background to look the way I wanted it to look. I know nothing about HTML so it proved to be a bit of a challenge. Having said that I have enjoyed the project.

I have  designed  my own blog background , mind you, that was the easy part. Getting it loaded was another thing in it's self  if you don't know any thing about HTML, which I don't. Luckily for me there are a few blog help sites around, and I read them all " LOL" and with a lot of help from my son Adrian we got it cracked between us.

I hope you like it. Let me know what you think by leaving a comment.  Thanks.

See you soon......

Craft show NEC

Hi Crafters,

I have been to the NEC today with Anne, Christine, Dianna and Sharon. Thanks girls it has been a lovely day.

It was packed though, there was that many people there, at times you couldn't move. I was glad to get out of the place in the end cos at times it was a bit claustrophobic.

I think the girls got what they were after, the car boot was a bit fuller on the way back anyway.

I got a head ache but I think that was more to do with the Sat Nav than anything else........ Give me a road map any day......... I found the thing more of a destraction than a help.

Well I am off to bed now because I am wacked. I think I might have a lie in tomorrow.

Punched Snowflake Tree.

Hi Crafters,

Here is a card I made with a small Snowflake punch.

The Christmas tree is made up of lots of small snowflakes. Trimmed with blue and clear gems.

Click on photos to get a closer look.

Here is a close-up of the bow.

I used a snowflake brad to make a faux bow.

I just love the blues used in this card. I hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Cuttlebug Christmas Lace Tree

Hi Crafters,
Don't you just love it, when you get some thing new to play with. I have just had the Lace Tree embossing folder. ( I know they have been around for a while now ) I have been itching to use it.

So here is what I have done with the Cuttlebug Lace Tree.

After embossing the tree I sanded the surface to reveal the lighter colour beneath .

I then added some red and gold gems and carefully cut around the tree.

I'm just loving what I can do with these folders.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

I used for this card Core'dinations Core Color "Parsley"

C/B Lace Tree embossing folder

C/B Swiss Dots embossing folder

Gold peeloffs

Holly punch

Happy crafting
